This is an exhaustive treatment based on the author's observations and fieldwork in Labrador conducted between 1901 and 1958. At the end of the text there is a Gazetteer of Localities, an Index to Families and an index to the Names of Birds. This work was originally published by the Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh in 1963. The work was re-issued by Buteo Books in 1980 with a new binding, a biographical note by Kenneth C. Parkes, and a new errata sheet at the end of the work.
